Quw'utsun & Indigenous Cultures

At Qwuy’um’aat Creations, the teachings are not something I reference — they are something I live. The way I create is shaped by Coast Salish values, practices, and the knowledge passed down through generations.

Grounded in Quw'utsun Snuw'uyullh

This work is shaped by Quw’utsun values, teachings, and ways of being. The way I create, care for home, and carry myself comes from what has been passed down through generations. Culture is not something I reference — it is something I live with every day.

Materials and Approach

I choose my materials with care. Beads, thread, paper, and tools are part of the process, not just supplies. Some reflect traditional ways of creating, some reflect how we live today.

What matters most is the intention behind how they are used. Each piece, system, and process is made slowly, thoughtfully, and with respect for the teachings that guide my hands.

Storytelling and Creation

Everything I make carries a story. The way I create is guided by memory, teaching, and lived experience.

Each piece is an expression of culture as it lives today — shaped by where we come from and how we continue to carry it forward in everyday life.
